Dressing as a vampire was popular as well, as 6 percent of adults attested to. 3.3 percent of adults wanted to be an actor or celebrity for one day that year and bought Halloween costumes that made them so.
3.3 percent of U.S. adults were monsters for Halloween, while 2.4 percent went to their costume parties dressed as pirates. One might imagine that the pirate popularity, one somewhat new to the list is there thanks to Johnny Depp’s on-screen popularity.
Halloween costumes for sale that dropped from the top five popularity list that year were Ninjas, ghosts, SpongeBob, athletes and Power Rangers.
